Absorbent dressing with silver Controls infection
Sterile self-adhesive absorbent dressing with silver
Medisorb SILVER is sterile absorbent dressings coated with active metallic silver.
Medisorb SILVER is an adhesive absorbent dressing that absorbs excess exudate while maintaining a moist wound environment. Silver ions stimulate the granulation process and have antibacterial properties. Silver kills a broad spectrum of bacteria, such as Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Staphylococcus Aureus and Staphylococcus MRSA. The dressing has an additional layer of non-woven fabric coated with acrylic adhesive on the edges, which helps the dressing attach to the skin around the wound. The acrylic adhesive is skin-friendly.
The dressings are suitable for the topical treatment of hard-to-heal, chronic and acute wounds, including infected wounds, and as a measure to prevent infection in clean wounds and graft donor sites.
Use strictly as directed in the package insert and under the supervision of a physician or nurse, who will ensure that the dressing is applied aseptically. Read the directions for use before applying the dressing. Medisorb SILVER does not require a secondary dressing. Dressings should be changed as often as necessary; in general, a single dressing should be changed at least 1 or 2 times per week in the case of mildly exudative wounds and daily in the case of highly exudative wounds. Do not touch the active side of the absorbent pad while applying the dressing. If irritation, soreness, oedema or pus exudate appears on or around the wound, discontinue use of the dressing and consult a physician.
Do not use in patients with a known allergy to silver. The dressing must be removed before an MRI scan. Do not use past the expiry date. Do not reuse the product, as this is associated with a very high risk of infection.
