Hydrocolloid dressing. Controls exudate with an absorbency grade suitable for moderately exudative wounds
Medisorb H
Medisorb H is a sterile, self-adhesive dressing consisting of a hydrocolloid layer, which does not contain gelatine, and a thin semi-permeable polyurethane film, which acts as a barrier against bacteria, viruses, and water.
When the hydrocolloid layer comes into contact with wound exudate, it forms a cohesive gel that absorbs the exudate and provides the right level of moisture to promote wound healing. The moist environment supports the granulation and epithelialisation process. The formation of the gel prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound, so that its removal is painless and does not damage new cells.
Medisorb H is a dressing suitable for moist wound healing and can be used to treat moderately exuding wounds such as second-degree burns, leg ulcers, pressure sores, chronic slow-healing wounds, and abrasions.
Use strictly according to the instructions in the leaflet and under the supervision of a doctor or nurse, who will ensure aseptic application of the dressing. Read the instructions before use. It does not require secondary dressing protection. The dressing should be changed when the hydrocolloid surface turns into a gel. The frequency of changes depends on the amount of exudate. For wounds with profuse exudate, the dressing may need to be changed daily. For wounds with little exudate or wounds covered with epithelium, the dressing can remain on the wound for up to 7 days.
The absence of gelatine minimises the occurrence of allergies and eliminates unpleasant odours.
Medisorb H should not be used on third-degree burns or on exposed muscles, bones, tendons, or infected wounds.
