Hydrogel dressing selectively debrides black necrotic tissue
Medisorb G
Sterile hydrogel dressing
Medisorb G is a clear, mildly gelatinous gel. Medisorb G creates and maintains a moist wound environment that promotes and accelerates wound healing.
Depending on the type of wound, the dressing can be used to soften and rehydrate black, dry necrotic tissue, thus initiating the debridement process. It can also be used to moisten the wound during the granulation phase. Thanks to its gel form, the dressing does not adhere to the surface of the wound, which minimises the risk of damaging healthy cells and ensures that changing dressings is not painful for the patient.
Medisorb G can be used for wounds with dry or liquefactive necrosis, such as pressure sores or lower leg ulcers.
Use strictly as directed in the package insert and under the supervision of a physician or nurse, who will ensure that the dressing is applied aseptically. Read the directions for use before applying the dressing. The dressing must be secured using a secondary dressing. In the case of necrotic wounds, Medisorb G should be changed every 24 hours. In the case of clean wounds, the gel can be left on the wound for up to 3 days. To remove the gel from the wound, rinse it with 0.9% saline solution.
In the early stages of treatment with Medisorb G, the wound may increase in size. This is a normal reaction and is caused by the debridement of the wound edges in the early stages of healing. Infected wounds should only be treated with the dressing under medical supervision. Each dressing is intended for a single use in one patient. Any unused portions should be disposed of.
Do not use this product in patients with a known allergy to the gel, on third-degree burn wounds or if the package has been damaged or opened.
