Description

Medisorb F is a sterile, transparent protective wound dressing. The device is made of a thin, waterproof, and bacteria- and virus-resistant polyurethane film, which is entirely covered with a layer of acrylic adhesive.

Effect

The dressing effect is based on creating a mechanical barrier that isolates the wound from the external environment. The semi-permeable polyurethane film allows gas exchange, which enables excess moisture to evaporate (transpiration). Thanks to its complete transparency, the dressing allows for continuous visual inspection of the wound bed or puncture site.

Indications

As a primary dressing: for protecting dry wounds or wounds with minimal exudate, such as abrasions, lacerations, and areas exposed to friction.

As a secondary (fixing) dressing: to protect catheter insertion sites and as a fixing and covering element for other specialised dressings (e.g. alginate, hydrogel, hydrofibre or foam).

Directions for use

Use strictly according to the instructions for use. Does not require a secondary dressing. One dressing can be left on the wound for up to 7 days. Medisorb F should be removed immediately if any clinical signs of infection occur.

Additional remarks

Water resistance: the dressing allows the patient to bathe and maintain hygiene without the dressing getting wet.

Protective barrier: the film is resistant to the penetration of bacteria and viruses, which protects the wound from external infection.

Comfort: the dressing is flexible, easily adapts to the contours of the body, and is comfortable to apply.

Transparency: the dressing allows the condition of the wound or injection site to be monitored without having to remove the dressing.

Contraindications

  1. The sterility of the dressing is guaranteed as long as the individual packaging has not been damaged or opened prior to use.
  2. Single-use device. Reuse may result in cross-contamination.
  3. Do not use after its expiry date.
  4. Do not use on patients with hypersensitivity to acrylic adhesive.
  5. Do not use on infected or bleeding wounds unless under medical supervision.
  6. Repeated use of the device in one area may cause skin damage in patients with thin or delicate skin.
